10th Annual Vermont State Zucchini Festival
Ludlow Vermont
Saturday & Sunday August 19-20
PRESS RELEASE Zukapult 2006
Date: August 4th 2006
With just a few days before the 10th annual Zee Fest arrives in Ludlow on Saturday, August 20th, B.A. Seed, PR Director of the upcoming Top 10 Summer event announced details of the changes to the “Zuckapult” contest this year.
We have added special classification for “First Time Family Builders” who will compete only for Ribbons. This class is designed to allow first timers to test their machines without any pressure. Machines must comply with the spirit of all rules as published on the web site. No entry fee will be charged.
We also cleared up the classes and now have two professional classes; Primitive and Modern. Machines are assigned to the appropriate class by reviewing the design and materials used in construction. A new design such as the sewer pipe and surgical tubing machine from 2005 would be Modern. A trebuchet constructed of all natural materials so as to appear as original would be Primitive.
Zuckapult range officials will make the final determination as to class assignments. Total participation will be limited to 12 machines.
Entry fee for these two classes remains at $20 which will be combined with the base purse of $100 per class and paid out with 50% to 1st 30% for 2nd and 20% for third. All other rules and procedures remain unchanged and can be found on our web site. http://www.OkemoValleyVT.org Just go to the events section.
Event management noted, “if time and weather permits we will feature a mass firing, where all machines will shoot at a target.
