Things To Do Swimming Boating

Boating

The Okemo Valley region is home to 16 ponds and lakes with public access. They provide 1,435 acres of great paddling, miles of shore line and beautiful views. Many small lakes and ponds are now home to Loons, please give them space.

Canoeing, kayaking, motor boating and sailing all abound in the valley.  During certain times of the summer months river rafting and tubing also occur.

SWIMMING

Because the valley is strewned with so many different rivers, you are certain to find a swimming hole near you.

Ludlow – Buttermilk Falls
Take Rte 103 north out of Ludlow, follow 1.6, turn right onto Buttermilk Falls road follow roughly .75 miles up to the dead end.  Follow paths down to the river on the right hand side.

Plymouth – Plymouth State Park Beach
As the name indicates, this swimming hole is the beach in a state park, so there’s plenty of sand and water for the whole family. Plus the park has picnic areas too, so remember to bring food for a barbeque.

Take Rte 103 north out of Ludlow, follow 1.5, turn right onto Rte 100 North, follow for approx 4 miles, look for Reading road on right (look for the Echo Lake Inn on your left).  Follow up for 1.5 miles, Turn left onto Boy Scout Camp Road. Follow 1.0 mile to the park, turn in on the left.
